What Is AI GARY?

AI GARY is me — but in your pocket. It’s my brain, my experience, my knowledge, and my way of explaining golf, built into a tool that actually gives you what you need, when you need it. Not when the algorithm thinks you need it. Not some TikTok/Instagram scroll trap feeding you random tips at random times that ultimately halt progression . This is different.

GARY gives you the answers to the questions you’re actually asking. You talk to him, you tell him your problem, and he gives you a straight answer with a short video (of the real me) showing you how to fix it. No essays. Just facts. Fast.

I’ve spent months learning AI, building this, testing it, refining it. This is real. This is useful. And most importantly — this is FREE.

Why Is It Free?

Golf is my life. It changed my life. It shaped who I am. The game’s given me more than I could ever put into words - opportunity, discipline, memories, even a career. And while I can’t give anything back to “the game” itself, I can give back to the people who play it. Every single one of them.

There are over 68 million golfers worldwide. That’s who this is for.

I’ve got nothing but respect for coaches. They give back every day. This is just my way of doing the same. And if I’m being honest, I believe this is the next step forward. This is a new and different level of coaching. No gatekeeping. No money grab. Just real help, made simple.

I wanted to build a tool that hosts my knowledge, that cuts through the noise, breaks the algorithm and gives golfers straight answers, for free, powered by AI. Ethically. Efficiently. Not to farm your data. Not to get you hooked. To actually help you play better.

Between 2016 and 2023, the number of on-course golfers in R&A-affiliated markets (excluding the USA and Mexico) skyrocketed from 29.6 million to 42.7 million — a 44% increase in just seven years. Has any sport ever exploded like that? With that growth comes a huge responsibility. Accessibility isn’t just getting people onto golf courses. It’s not just about buying clubs or memberships. It’s education. It’s giving people the knowledge to enjoy the game properly, without being overwhelmed, misled, or priced out of getting better.

That’s why it’s free. Because I wanted it to be. This is my way of giving back to the game that’s given me everything.

Why I Built This

Because I’m sick of watching golfers get sucked into the algorithm. Every scroll is a new “swing tip” you didn’t ask for. Different coach. Different opinion. Different day. And before you know it, you’re standing on the range trying to fix your driver with a wedge tip from TikTok. Useless. 

I’m not against coaching. I’m against bad coaching. I’m against players spending thousands on memberships, gear, and then realising it costs even more to get the help they actually need., so they lean on the algorithm, I know we are all become more aware of the power of the algorithm and how it manipulates us. Trust it if you want, or you can trust someone that understands that many algorithms raise significant ethical concerns due to their design and data collection practices.

Golf has given me everything. I owe this game. And as AI explodes into our lives, I wanted to use it to give back — properly. Ethically. Practically. So I built GARY. For the people who want to get better, for the people who want to be included, for the people who want clarity, without a catch.

But here’s the truth — this whole thing started because I was trying to figure out how to fund my professional golf career. I was looking for ways to gain financial sponsors. The idea was to create an AI coaching tool that I could offer exclusively to sponsors as part of the deal.

But once I saw what I’d actually built, the decision was clear:
I could keep this locked away and offer it to a handful of people for a price…
or I could give it to over 68 million golfers around the world for free.

Let’s be honest — the algorithm doesn’t care if you get better at golf. It cares if you keep scrolling. That’s not coaching. That’s not development. That’s manipulation.

People making their videos longer, dragging it out, just so they can make more money through the platform’s paid systems. It’s not about helping you. It’s about keeping you hooked.

Just a short, sharp video made by me that shows you exactly how to fix the issue. I trained GARY on triggers, faults and patterns in the game of golf, prioritising the FAQ's and then I expanded from there.
